These collar stays fit in the small pockets at the underside of our shirts collars. They fit in all our shirts except for the button down shirts where collar stays are obviously not needed.

Care

Over time a patina will appear on bronze. As it is usually a slow process people see this as a sign of age and heritage. If you prefer to keep a more shiny finish we advise you to keep your collar stays in their original jewellery box to prevent oxidation. If you would like to remove a patina you will need some acidity to react with the oxides. You can submerge the collar stays for about 30 minutes up to 1 hour in any of the following:

  • A mixture of one unit of lemon juice with 1 unit of tap water
  • cold coffee
  • any kind of vinegar. That’s much quicker so watch it. You will actually see the patina disappear.
  • or use a special bronze cream

Collar stays are those accessories that remain hidden most of the time but this doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be as well made as our shirts. You deserve well made collar stays so we teamed up with our friend Ayla from Ayla Jewellery to make you this beautiful set.
